Pier-to-Plate Seafood Market
When wholesale and restaurant markets closed down, the Tuna Harbor Dockside Market quickly built up direct-to-consumer sales in the local food shed.
The San Diego Food System Alliance launched Food Vision 2030 because the time to reimagine and rebuild our food system is now. Our current path is not working and changes need to happen at the community level.
To create a food system that works for everyone, we are engaging the full community, including people who produce, prepare, distribute, serve, and eat food. We want to build a shared vision—one that includes your voice.

San Diego’s Tuna Harbor is certainly a mainstay. A group of commercial fishermen in Oceanside hope to create something similar at the city’s harbor.
The San Diego Food System Alliance acknowledges, honors, and offers our gratitude to the Kumeyaay, Luiseño/Payómkawichum, Cahuilla, and Cupeño people and land.
San Diego County Food Vision 2030 is a project of the San Diego Food System Alliance.
Our mission is to cultivate a healthy, sustainable, and just food system in San Diego County.
